What started off in 2003 as a weekend gig with a local MMA show has turned into an international tidal wave of travel and life experiences! That exposure grabbed the attention of Matt Lindland and Randy Couture in Portland and led to an invitation to announce Sportfight events in the Pacific NW. Lindland’s involvement with the newly formed International Fight League made yet another connection in 2006 where the chance to ring announce at Trump’s Taj Mahal became the launching pad for all of the IFL’s events aired on FSN, MyNetwork TV and HDNet.
HDNet then enlisted Hughes talents for both an inhouse host at HDNet Fights II in Dallas and as ring reporter in Tulsa Oklahoma in 2008. His play-by-play skills can now be heard on the Military Channel’s “Top Army Fighter” in ’08 along with the “Throwdown Showdown” airing weekly in the West!
